Housewarming party

The Les Mills 21-Day Challenge Diet: Days 14-16

Posted on

Day 14 (Sunday) – Today I’m celebrating 2 weeks done by being in PA and having a sub for BodyAttack!  <Thank you Angela!!!>  Could I just reiterate that I do not enjoy teaching while on this diet?

Aside from my minor transgression on Day 9, and my major sin on Day 13, I’ve done really well.  Back on track for my journey back to VA.  Quick 3 hour drive home, and then had to get to work on the yard – I have Monday and Tuesday off from work to get the outside of my house in decent shape for a housewarming party this weekend.

Speaking of which, the 21 day diet is actually only a 19 day diet for me because I’m ending this stint of misery with 40 of my closest friends and family, a ton of greek food, and lots of dessert, soda, Prosecco, and all other things bad yum.

After a full afternoon of raking, bagging, and hauling I am ready for a little pick-me-up.  In the form of cheat-ish #3.  I can’t get my mind off of that burger at Glory Days a million years fourteen days ago.  I justified my burger with bacon, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato – only a partial bun, and only 4 of my huge pile of fries – by telling myself that I could have been REALLY bad this weekend while out of town.

But I wasn’t.  Even considering the donut.  It would energize me to finish the rest of the 3rd week off strong.

The after effects?  None.  Limiting the carb intake was easy to do, I didn’t crave all the extras, no need to be a member of the clean plate club (I was the queen of this club, by the way, wasting food was something my mother would not tolerate growing up and it stayed with me).  I felt satisfied but not stuffed, and didn’t suffer any indigestion.

Day 15 (Monday) – Home from work, working on the yard all day.  Mulching, mowing, more hauling to the curb.  Grateful for the calorie dense meal last night as I felt like I have much more energy to do what I needed to do today.

I cooked more pulled pork in the crock pot today and made the almond slaw so that I would have lunches and dinners covered for a few days, it was so good last time, and is diet-friendly.  Taught my Mon night RPM class and felt pretty good on the bike.  Crashed in a heap from all the work at the end of the day.

Day 16 (Tuesday) – Home from work again, and today catching up from the weekend away in the form of laundry, tidying, getting the house back in order.  And a nice long nap in the middle of the day to help me forget about how much I want to raid the ‘hidden stash’ in the laundry closet.

Yes, that’s right.  After 16 days on this diet, I still want my M&Ms.  I don’t think that is ever going to go away.  Damn it!!!
